This question is asked of me quite often. The best way to get started is to first learn what is in your heart. The Craft may not be the right path for you. But if it is, my advice would be to READ! Search the web, your local library, book stores & etc. Dig, dig, dig! The more information you can obtain, the better. Don't just settle on the first opinion you receive. Get a second opinion, so to speak. Everyone has a different view and some of the information you receive may be wrong. Do Your Homework! |

Yes, my website is light hearted and fantasy based but my Magick is very real. I take my Magick very seriously! I do not view it as light at all. It is very spiritual to me. I chose to design my website in this fashion because the world is tough. It is filled to the brim with darkness and sadness. Why add to it.? Plus I wanted to create a site that would be uplifting to learn from. Not some boring pages with no life to them at all. Learning should be a fun experience! It should not become a "chore" Who wants to learn like that? Not me! |
I love Christianity! I was raised Christian! It is a beautiful faith as are others. What can make it seem tainted is the followers who forget how to be good Christians! It's not the Religion which is bad but some of the followers that give it a bad name. I do not condemn any religion. If anything should be condemned, it's religious intolerance. |
Anything by Scott Cunningham. His work is great for beginners! If you can only purchase 1 book, get "The Magical Household". It is a great read for everyone! |
It can be depending on who you ask. It can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. If you feel like you need a $100 Athame, by all means, if you can afford it, get it. But if you only need a simple nail file, go for it. Only you know what "you" need and feel comfortable with. No one should dictate to you what is appropriate for "your" path. You will know in your heart what you need! It is not necessary to spend a ton of money to perform Magick and if anyone tries to tell you it does, they are full of it! The Craft, just like other paths, is not "just" for the rich! |
YES! Not all Wiccans are Witches. You don't need to follow any certain path to be a Witch nor do Wiccans have to be a Witch. |
YES! I may not answer immediately but I do answer. I suffer from Osteoarthritis so some days I can't type very well but I save my emails and respond as soon as I can. The only emails I don't respond to is hate mail.(which I get very little of) |
NOPE! I don't get paid to teach others and I definately don't get paid for my website. I pay for my site out of my own pocket.. It is my hobby and one of the biggest joys in my life. |
Some paths think so and some don't. Personally, If you are uncomfortable doing something, don't do it! You should not be made or required to do something you don't want to do! Never do something you are not comfortable with just for the sake of others. If others respect you, they will not push you into something you don't want to do! |
I Don't! You have to learn to crawl before you can walk! Do your homework. Get comfortable with the Craft. Get to know what is right for you. Study and learn. Then you can walk! |
I am totally against drinking and driving, not drinking. There is a big difference between drinking responsibly and drinking ignorantly! By all means, have a drink with dinner, at a party, on an annivrsary but do so with intelligence! Don't drive after you have been drinking! |
Depends on who you ask LOL! No, there is no "Devil" in the Craft. Satanism? NO! This one really gets me, LOL! I think more people should research what Satanists believe in. They might be surprised at what they find out! |
Why not? Just because some egotistical Pagan or Christian says it isn't possible? With an open mind, anything is possible! It's as simple as remembering what you learned in first grade! To Share!!!! |
I don't! If I have learned one thing, it's that if a person's mind is made up about something, usually there is no changing it unless they are VERY open minded. I have run into people who really don't care about the truth, all they care about is arguing and being right. Those people I don't even bother with. Why bother having a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent! |
Curiosity is in everyones nature, the Craft isn't. You have to dig deep within yourself and find out what you truly believe in. Your Spirit and heart are intuned to one another. Search them honestly and they will tell you exactly what lies within! |
Just as above, you must find what you believe in first. Once you do that, your path will find you. You will know if it's the right path by the feeling within your heart and Spirit. |
Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, Spellwork is only a small part of the Craft. |
Yes I do but I am very particular to whom I teach. I also only choose to teach one person at a time so that each individual gets my full and undivided attention. |
Not always! Sometimes they may fail because they were meant to! Sometimes they fail due to lack of faith in ones own energy! There are numerous reasons why a Spell might fail. |
Nope! Some don't have them. I think it really depends on what the Familiar chooses, LOL! |
Alot of people choose to practice Solitary because of the freedom it offers while others like the order of a Coven. It is really up to you. If you're not a people person, I would recommend Solitary, LOL! |
There are more of us than you think, LOL! It isn't hard for me because I practice Solitary but I also know of Covens and they don't seem to have a problem either. I guess it all depends on where you are located in the Bible Belt. |
It is one of the oldest ways to spell Magick, according to ancient text and can also be spelled using a J. |
No, believe it or not! My site is about 5 years old and I have received only 2 pieces of hate mail! (Knock on wood, LOL!) I have been a practicing Witch for many years now and no hate mail! |
You have to remember, I am not Wiccan so I don't bind myself to the Rede. However, in my path, defensive Magick is permitted. Most on those on my path believe that their Karma is just that, "theirs". Most will live with the consequences in order to protect themselves and their loved ones. I would die a thousand deaths so that my loved ones would be safe and out of harms way! |

This is tough to answer because I don't want to cross a fine line here! If your signifigant other is open minded like my husband, you don't have anything to worry about. But, if he/she is not, you've got a problem! I don't think you should lie to your partner but at the same time, they should let you have the freedom to choose your religious path. I guess it will all depend on how strong your beliefs are verses what you are willing to sacrifice for your partner. If you have a good, strong relationship, a choice between your partner and your faith would not be necessary. All I can say is talk with your partner. If that doesn't do any good, just follow your heart. |
Simply put, no! You, your Spirit, your energy and your love are all the tools you will ever need! |
